There are 3 layers to a moment.
1. Something happens (you made it happen, or happened to you). Let’s call it Your Experience.
2. Your Awareness of the Experience.
3. Your Interpretation or Reaction to the Experience.
Be mindful of the last item. The story you tell yourself about what happened causes you to react and becomes the story of the moment. This is where you need to exercise caution and control. If you are successful, you have mastered the art of living.
