Are you one of those…
Less than a min.
… who dutifully reflects on the past year to prepare for the next? If so, you must have already begun the retrospection process. Kudos.
December 31 is just the end of the year for some. For others, it may be the end of a few years or a decade or more in the pursuit of their goals.
It’s easier when you know what you want—but most people don’t take the time to figure out what they want. People will work for years and ultimately realize that isn’t what they were hoping for because they never clearly defined what they wanted.
Speaking from my own experience, I have gone through the following phases in my life:
Clear on what I wanted and on track.
Clear on what I wanted and thought I was on track.
Clear on what I wanted but unsure if I was on track.
Clear on what I wanted but didn’t know how to get on track.
Unclear on what I wanted and on the next steps.
Had no clue what was going on.
Too often, we wait for the perfect moment. If this happens, then I will do that. The ifs and thens are nothing but excuses.
If you happen to be on the last phase, now would be a good time to pause and reflect.
Thank you for reading.
Bye for now.
